What do I have to do?
I have always loved design and have been thinking that I would like to be an architect for one of my possible career choices. The University of Waterloo is the school that I would like to go to if I decide to become an architect.
To go into a arcitectural program at Waterloo, I will need grade 12 credits in university level English (with a passing grade of 75%), advanced functions, calculus and vectors and physics. I need a passing grade of at least 70% in all three of these courses. The University of Waterloo also reccomends that I take grade 11 or 12 art courses, independent art studies and a creative and cultural studies (visual arts and history). Also, the University of Waterloo architect program includes a co-op program where you go into the feild and actually do the job of an architect. I found that research on career choices is a large part of decideing what is the best option for myself. http://www.findoutmore.uwaterloo.ca/programs/Architecture.
Considering these courses that I need, it seems that I would enjoy the architect program. However, I am not a huge fan of sciences and always somewhat struggled in them. I would have to work very hard to do well in physics, and carry it throughout high school. I feel I can continue science if I work hard and want to become an architect. Also, I love art and math and would find the rest of the courses that I have to or should take very interesting. Overall, I think that the program sounds interesting and I think that I would enjoy it a lot. I also think that it would be cool to design things that other poeople can love.
