Ever since I was little, I can always remember myself being interested in art. I love to draw and paint and make sculptures with clay. Now that I am older, that has gotten me thinking about if I can carry out a career with these skills. Also, my learning strategies come into play about what job I want in the future.
Almost everyone I know has taken a test to see what type of learner they are. I remember taking many in primary school. I always ended up being a kinesthetic and visula learner. Now that I think about it, those relate to art.
Being a kinesthetic learner, that makes me want to actually learn by doing things. This relates to art becasue I am creating the pictures and sculptures with my hands. I am now thinking that insead of being an artist, I will want to have a career that is design related. Therefore, being a graphic designer or an arcitect, will give me a hands-on learning experience. Having a job that is hands-on will actually make me interested in going to work. These jobs will satisfy my kinesthetic learning ability.
Next, being a visual learner makes me learn by seeing things. Therefore that is why I like to draw. This could also tie into a job as an arctitect or a graphic designer because as an arctitect, I will have to look at blue prints of what is being built. Also, being a graphic designer will satisfy my visual learning ability because I will be looking at what is being created. I can look at it, and then I can learn from my mistakes. For example, if I do not like something, then I can change it to make it look more appealing to the eye.
Having these two learning skills can open up many job opportunities fo me. I would love to do a job that is hands on, but I do not know if my prefences will change.
